A delegation of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) participated in Work Package Three (WP3) in Spain

Within the framework of the RISE project activities, which aims at internationalization of universities through the International Relations Office, and enhancing employability of university graduates through the Career Development Center (CDC), our university’s team participated in Work Package Three of the project in Spain for five days.
The university’s delegation consisted of: Asst. Prof. Dr. Bakhtiar Aubaid Sharif – Vice President of Students Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Awder Mohammed Ahmed – Director of the International Relations Office, Mr. Ayoob Kareem Saeed – Director of the Career Development Center (CDC), Ms. Shara Salih Ali – Member of IRO, Ms. Zhana Fidakar Mohammed – member of CDC.
This Work Package was dedicated to aligning academic programs with job market requirements, forming working groups on how to align curricula with employers’ requirements and feedback, building relationships and collaboration between local employers, students, lecturers, the university community, and employers’ feedback mechanism, sharing Alumni Executive Board experience, participating in professional development activities, implementing employability enhancement tools and entrepreneurship in CDCs.
The SPU delegation had active participation in this trip; with an advanced and detailed plan, they were able to gain the most experience and benefit to develop and implement the objectives of the project in a way that directly reflects on employment level, increases employability for graduates, and advances our university.
The RISE Project is another initiative of the International Relations Office of SPU. It is a two-year project coordinated by UNIMED and fully funded by the European Union within the framework of Erasmus+. Seven universities from Kurdistan Region are partners in this project: Sulaimani Polytechnic University, Duhok Polytechnic University, Akre University for Applied Sciences, Erbil Polytechnic University, University of Duhok, University of Garmian, and University of Zakho, with two universities from Europe: International University of Rome (UNINT) in Italy and University of Murcia in Spain.
