Scientific Meeting on the Diverse Currents of Kurdish Sociology Held in the Anfal Camps
At the conference of the technical colleges, with the support of the university president’s deputies, professors, administrators, students, and several guests, a special scientific meeting was held to mark the 37th anniversary of the tragedy that befell the Kurdish people in the Anfal camps. During the meeting, discussions focused on the historical, legal, and international legal dimensions of the tragedy.
In one of the speeches, Dr. Hêresh Rêsool, the coordinator of the Technical College of Business Administration, stated, “We are not here merely to commemorate a tragic event; we are here to understand, analyze, and learn lessons from this historical catastrophe.”
He further explained that our academic and scientific mission is not only about the exchange of knowledge and information but also about investigating and critically analyzing historical events so that the youth and the new generation can learn from the past and establish a better future.
Finally, four professors from different departments of our college presented various topics related to the meeting. Their presentations were followed by a session of questions and discussions addressing the issues raised during the meeting.
