Sulaimani Polytechnic University Takes Part in Workshop Organized by IREX on Labor Market and Curriculum Development
A group of teachers from Sulaimani Polytechnic University participates in the International Training Course provided by (IREX) and international experts. The course was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 14th and 15th March 2023 in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with the presence of consultants and general managers of the Ministry of Higher Education.
The training course involved a scientific survey of the needs of the labor market and the development of educational programs and how these two sectors need to be related. In the course the idea of a new culture for the development of educational programs and adapt them to the content of the educational programs in accordance with the data of the needs of the labor market، the public and private sectors and the industrial sector were discussed. Seventy participations of academic staff across all Kurdistan universities were trained to help their universities to take this initiative and culture into account when updating their curricula.
The aim of this course was to ensure that the entire education and training process is aligned with the needs of the labor market and the local and global direction of economic growth. Thus, the graduates have better chance to compete for job opportunities.
