About CHMT
The College of Health and Medical Technologies is one of the main and most important colleges located on the Chwarchra Campus of the colleges affiliated with Sulaimani Polytechnic University. It is a health sciences college dedicated to providing better healthcare for the community. The college is considered one of the largest health colleges in the city, aiming to educate and prepare qualified healthcare professionals to serve citizens in the healthcare sector.
Vision
The vision of the college is to provide better healthcare services to every member of society without discrimination by delivering essential healthcare services and monitoring patients’ health conditions in hospitals and health centers through laboratory diagnosis and the identification of diseases.
Another objective of the college is to raise public awareness about the prevention of chronic and communicable diseases and to educate the community about their consequences, with the goal of promoting better health for everyone.
Mission
The mission of our college is to prepare highly qualified professionals in various healthcare fields, including medical laboratory sciences, nursing, and anesthesia technology, to provide quality healthcare services to the community. Another mission of the college is to identify, monitor, and address health-related challenges in our country through scientific research.
History of the College
The college was initially established as an independent department under the Presidency of Sulaimani Polytechnic University under the name Department of Community Health. In 2014, it became an independent college under the name Technical Health College, consisting of the Departments of Community Health and Medical Laboratory Sciences.As the college expanded and enhanced its academic standards, increased its laboratory facilities, and gained recognition for its scientific capabilities in both theoretical and practical aspects, it was renamed the College of Health and Medical Technologies. Since then, the college has continued its development through the dedicated efforts of its distinguished academic and healthcare teaching staff.

A new effort, a new beginning, and having experience with university study in health science and future work towards social health, caring for one another and bringing smiles back to the patients.
Dear new students, it is my honor to welcome you to the new academic year, one that promises to be different from the past challenging years. Although we experienced and passed difficult years because of the pandemic and economic crises, we are now collectively adjusting study of the new year to resume activities in a much more active in terms of theoretical, practical lectures and friendly environment between student-student and staff-student.
As we know, our college is one of the top colleges of the Kurdistan Region and accepted highly ranked students with almost the highest degrees. Therefore, it’s our duty to give students the best environment of study in health and medical science in all departments Medical Laboratory, Nursing, and Anesthesia. It’s our pleasure to educate you all with new science and technology until you can serve our community to have better health in the future.
