The Department of Surveying was established in 1992. The aim of opening this department at the Sulaymaniyah Technical Institute is to prepare a Specialized staff in the field of the survey of engineering projects and be an assistant to the civil engineer in the projects. Graduates of this department have an important role to play in the survey of engineering projects such as construction, agriculture, roads, etc., land boundaries, and land surveying, as well as expertise in aerial surveying. The graduates of this department have an important role in the implementation of engineering projects in a scientific and modern way.
Vision:
The purpose of establishing this department was to create Specialized staff in the field of (surveying) so that they have the ability to work on engineering projects in government departments and non-governmental companies, such as construction projects, roads, agriculture, electricity … etc.
Mission:
The graduate of this department has the ability to work in the field of surveying in various engineering projects using modern equipment such as (Total station, and theodolite).
They are assistants to the Civil Engineer. They also have experience in calculating the quantities of construction materials in engineering projects.
