President of SPU Contributed in a Workshop Entitled “An Introduction to the Bologna Process, a gateway for Kurdistan Universities to approach European system”

Assist. Prof. Dr.Alan Faraydoon Ali President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University contributed in a workshop, on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 , in Devan Hotel in Erbil entitled “An Introduction to the Bologna Process, a gateway for Kurdistan Universities to approach European system”

The workshop was organized by MHE-KRG under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr.Yousif Goran , in cooperation with Dr.Lanazairina the CEO of Cineca, and by Sina Group.The workshop included the definition of Bologna process , Quality Assessment, Documentation of Quality Assurance Data and National Ranking System , as well as ways of supporting Kurdistan universities to approach Bologna process and European standards.

It is worth to mention that Bologna process launched during the meeting of Ministers of the European Higher Education in 1999 in the Italian Bologna on the occasion of nine hundred year anniversary of the establishment of the University of Bologna, which is one of the main voluntary processes at European level, as it is nowadays implemented, in 47 states which define the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

On the sidelines of the workshop Dr. Alan with all of the Italian and Hungary consuls discussed on establishing academic and scientific relations between SPU and the universities of those countries.

It is noteworthy that SPU is making every effort to improve the universities of Kurdistan and access to a suitable place in the academic international map through its commitment to the global standards .
