SPU Enlisted in the International Association of the Universities IAU

Since Oct. 2013, Sulaimani Polytechnic University )SPU( has become a member in IAU International Association of Universities regionally known as UNESCO list of the universities that has effects on developing SPU academically.

IAU, founded in 1950, is the UNESCO-based worldwide association of higher education institutions. It brings together institutions and organizations from some 120 countries for reflection and action on common concerns and collaborates with various international, regional and national bodies active in higher education.

The director of Cultural Relations at SPU Mr.Jamal KAKBRA spoke about the importance of being a member of IAU; he in his explanation said that it has been a long time working on the IAUs’ procedures to be enlisted in the IAU. As the first stage SPU has been luckily enlisted in the IAU (www.whed.net), then we are currently trying being a permanent member in the association .University members in IAU are able to build relations and working mutually.
