On 16\/02\/2022, an international joint workshop of the #DCH-CHO-NN (Nahrein Network)
\nentitled, \u201cBeyond the Point Clouds: Real-World Uses of 3D Data for Conservation and
\nAccessibility of Cultural Heritage" took place.
\nOver 236 participants from 44 different universities and government and non-government
\norganizations from a total of 9 countries (Iraq, United States of America, UK, Poland, Tunisia,
\nSpain, Egypt, Finland, and Albania). And locally in Iraq, participants attended the workshop
\nfrom 12 different cities and Towns, including (Sulaimani, Erbil, Kirkuk, Halabja, Duhok, Babylon,
\nKoya, Darbandikhan, Kalar, Chamchamal, Khanaqin, and Ranya).
\nThe workshop was presented by Dr. Lyn Wilson, Head of Programme for Technical Research
\nand Science, Historic Environment Scotland.
\n*The Nahrein Network, based at the University College London (UCL), is a collaborative
\ninternational project between UCL, University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University,
\nCultural Heritage Organization, and the University of Al-Qadisiyah. Nahrein Network was
\npreviously funded by an AHRC GCRF from 2017 to 2021. But now are continuing their mission
\nuntil 2031, funded by a generous philanthropic gift.<\/p>\n
