On 19\/01\/2022, an international joint workshop of the #DCH-CHO-NN (Nahrein Network)
\nentitled, \u201cDigital transition of cities: new trends in urban planning" took place.
\nOver 283 participants from 45 different universities and government and non-government
\norganizations from a total of 8 countries (Iraq, Algeria, United States of America, Aruba, Greece,
\nUK, Poland, and Tunisia). And locally in Iraq, participants attended the workshop from 14
\ndifferent cities and Towns, including (Sulaimani, Erbil, Kirkuk, Halabja, Duhok, Mousl, Koya,
\nDarbandikhan, Kalar, Chamchamal, Khanaqin, Soran, Rawandiz, and Ranya).
\nThe workshop was presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Valina Geropanta, Assistant Professor of Urban
\nPlanning and New Technologies at the Technical University of Crete, Faculty of Architecture.
\n*The Nahrein Network, based at the University College London (UCL), is a collaborative
\ninternational project between UCL, University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University,
\nCultural Heritage Organization, and the University of Al-Qadisiyah. Nahrein Network was
\npreviously funded by an AHRC GCRF from 2017 to 2021. But now are continuing their mission
\nuntil 2031, funded by a generous philanthropic gift.<\/p>\n
