{"id":5065,"date":"2020-10-29T07:31:59","date_gmt":"2020-10-29T04:31:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spu.edu.iq\/en\/?p=5065"},"modified":"2021-07-15T07:35:14","modified_gmt":"2021-07-15T04:35:14","slug":"an-international-workshop-on-challenges-in-3d-modeling-of-historic-buildings-and-archaeological-sites-took-place","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spu.edu.iq\/en\/an-international-workshop-on-challenges-in-3d-modeling-of-historic-buildings-and-archaeological-sites-took-place\/","title":{"rendered":"An international workshop on \u201cChallenges in 3D Modeling of Historic Buildings and Archaeological Sites\u201d took place"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On October 27th, 2020, the second international training workshop of the joint Digital cultural heritage (DCH)-the Nahrein Network \u201cDigital Cultural Heritage\u201d Training Program under the title \u201cChallenges in 3D Modeling of Historic Buildings and Archaeological Sites &#8221; was held.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over 118 participants from 20 different universities and government and non-government associations and organizations from a total of 4 countries (Iraq, Turkey, United Kingdom, and Yemen) attended the workshop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The one-hour long workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Richard Levy, who is an Emeritus Professor of Planning at the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape at the University of Calgary, Canada.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the workshop, Professor Dr. Richard Levy discussed the goals, types, and challenges that can arise from 3D modeling in the digital cultural heritage sector, through displaying the analysis of his projects. And explaining other uses of 3D modeling in different fields and expertise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Nahrein Network is a collaborative international project between University College London (UCL), University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and the University of Al-Qadisiyah.
