The Career Development Center (CDC) at Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) serves as a strong bridge between academia and the labor market. Operating under the direct supervision and guidance of Prof. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, President of SPU, the center plays a key role in the university\u2019s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration among academic institutions, government agencies, and the private sector.<\/p>\n

Over the years, CDC has achieved significant milestones and established itself as an influential hub within the job market. Through a comprehensive and forward-looking approach, the center facilitates employment opportunities for graduates while helping align academic competencies with labor market needs. This is accomplished through strategic partnerships with companies, professional organizations, and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The initiatives led by the University President and implemented by the CDC team aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application. These efforts ensure that graduates enter the workforce equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to gain the confidence of employers and succeed in their professional careers.<\/p>\n

On June 18, 2026, during a formal ceremony, Mr. Nawzad Ghafur Rabati, President of the Sulaimani Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), presented a shield of honor and a letter of appreciation to Mr. Ayub Karim, Director of the CDC. The recognition was awarded in appreciation of his continued cooperation, support, and coordination with the Chamber, particularly in organizing and delivering specialized capacity-building training programs for SCCI staff.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Dr. Sarkhel Sirwan, a member of the CDC team, was also recognized for his valuable contributions to a specialized workshop conducted for the Chamber.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, the President of the SCCI expressed his sincere appreciation to the leadership and faculty of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, emphasizing the university\u2019s role as a leading academic institution that continuously supports the region\u2019s economic and commercial development.<\/p>\n

Concluding the event, he reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening cooperation with the university and highlighted the critical role of higher education institutions in developing a skilled workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands and challenges of local, national, and international labor markets.<\/p>\n
