Upon an official invitation from NAFSA, a high-level delegation from Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) participated in the association\u2019s annual conference for the second time. The delegation was led by the University President, Professor Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, and included Asst. Prof. Dr. Awder Mohammed Ahmed, Director of International Relations. The conference was held in Orlando, Florida, from May 26 to May 29, 2026.<\/p>\n

The primary objective of the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference was to promote the advancement and internationalization of education and higher education worldwide. These goals were explored through several key themes, most notably \u201cResilience, Renewal, and Community\u201d and \u201cGlobal by Design.\u201d Together, these themes served as a call to action for education professionals to shape the future of global learning through intentional planning, bold innovation, and strategic collaboration.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s conference brought together more than 8,000 higher education leaders and university representatives from over 110 countries, providing a valuable platform for international dialogue, partnership building, and knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n

Notably, through a rigorous strategic plan and extensive preparation, Sulaimani Polytechnic University distinguished itself as a leading institution by conducting numerous scientific meetings and productive discussions during the conference. These efforts were aimed at creating new opportunities and initiatives to benefit the University\u2019s faculty members and students. The outcomes of these engagements, along with several new programs and collaborations, will be officially announced in the near future.<\/p>\n
