Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) has achieved remarkable success in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2026, reflecting the university\u2019s growing scientific capacity both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n

In the latest SCImago rankings, SPU has gained a landmark position as 1st among public universities in the Kurdistan Region, 2nd in the Kurdistan Region across both public and private universities, and 12th among 76 Iraqi universities listed. This impressive performance underscores the university\u2019s rapid development in research, innovation, and academic impact within Iraq.<\/p>\n

The overall university ranking is determined based on three key criteria:<\/p>\n

  2. Innovation (30%)<\/li>\n
  3. Social Impact (20%)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    These results demonstrate SPU\u2019s strong commitment to scientific research, technological innovation, and societal engagement.<\/p>\n

    In addition to overall performance, the SCImago 2026 rankings also highlight universities\u2019 achievements across specific subjects. Sulaimani Polytechnic University has excelled in several fields in Iraq:<\/p>\n
