O<\/span>n <\/span>Tuesday<\/span>, August <\/span>18<\/span>, 2020 at <\/span>12<\/span>:00 pm Iraq time<\/span>, <\/span>Sulaimani Polytechnic University <\/span>(SPU) <\/span>held <\/span>the <\/span>E-Learning Professional Training Program <\/span>final <\/span>on-campus c<\/span>eremony <\/span>for its <\/span>participating<\/span>university <\/span>faculties<\/span> who successfully completed the program<\/span>delivered by IREX from April 30<\/span>th<\/span>, 2020 to July 5<\/span>th<\/span>, 2020<\/span>. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony was held under the auspicious of the SPU President Assistant for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies <\/span>Professor Dr. <\/span>Soran<\/span> Abu-<\/span>Bakir<\/span> Mohammed and in attendance of a number of the Deans of <\/span>university <\/span>colleges<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Initially,<\/span> Professor Dr. <\/span>Soran<\/span> open<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0the <\/span>cermony<\/span> by welcoming the <\/span>attendees<\/span> and congratulated<\/span> all of <\/span>the participa<\/span>ting faculties<\/span>on <\/span>their<\/span> success<\/span>ful completion<\/span> of <\/span>the program<\/span>, <\/span>commend<\/span>ing<\/span>their efforts to <\/span>the impressive work <\/span>they<\/span> have accomplished <\/span>at this difficult time due to Coronavirus Pandemic<\/span>. He also stressed the need for<\/span> accelerating efforts to <\/span>organiz<\/span>e<\/span> similar <\/span>e-learning professional training <\/span>programs<\/span> for<\/span> the other university faculties <\/span>prior to<\/span> the commencement of the new academic year. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On his side<\/span>, the <\/span>program <\/span>coordinator <\/span>for SPU participating faculties, <\/span>Ass<\/span>istant<\/span> Prof<\/span>essor<\/span> Dr. Sarkawt Rostam<\/span> shared the experience with the attendees and provided them with a brief about the program, shedding some light on the duration, <\/span>core <\/span>modules and assessment tools of the <\/span>program<\/span>. He went on to say that 1051 participa<\/span>ting faculties<\/span> from 79 universities across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region were enrolled in the course. <\/span>Of these, eight faculties were from Sulaimani Polytechnic University, whose names are listed as follows: <\/span><\/p>\n

4. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali <\/span>Muhi<\/span> Aldeen<\/span> Omar, Technical College of Applied Sciences, Food Industry & Quality Control<\/span>\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n

5. Dr. Hogar Mohammed Tawfeeq, SPU Presidency, International English Language Centre <\/span><\/p>\n

6. <\/span>Zanyar<\/span> Ali Ahmed, <\/span>Chamchamal<\/span> Techncial<\/span> Institute, Information Technology <\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

Bearing this in mind, t<\/span>he purpose of the E-learning Professional Training Program <\/span>was<\/span> to support Iraqi faculty in successfully integrating e-learning broadly across Iraqi campuses. The Program <\/span>was<\/span> supported by the U.S. Embassy, Baghdad under the U.S. Iraq Higher Education Partnerships Program and in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Baghdad and the <\/span>Kurdistan Regional Government<\/span>\u2019s<\/span>(KRG) <\/span>Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
