As part of the\u00a0Media <\/strong>lecture campaign<\/strong>\u00a0 on\u00a0November 2, 2025<\/strong>, the\u00a02nd graders student<\/strong>\u00a0from the\u00a0Technical Media Department, technical College of Adminstration <\/strong>conducted a series of\u00a0educational seminars<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0public school (<\/em>Blesa Primary School)<\/em>.<\/em> These seminars were organized under the supervision of\u00a0Sulaimani polytechnic University academic staff, Shahen Karim<\/strong><\/p>\n

The purpose of the event was to\u00a0educate young students<\/strong>\u00a0about the misuse of modern technology, particularly\u00a0smart phones and iPads<\/strong>, and to promote\u00a0healthier and more responsible media habits<\/strong>\u00a0among children. The seminars were delivered by three students, Hanar Omid<\/strong>,\u00a0Avesta Osman<\/strong>, and\u00a0Helen Khalid<\/strong>\u00a0and the sessions were presented to\u00a0fifth- and sixth-grade students<\/strong>\u00a0at Blesa Primary School.<\/p>\n

Throughout the presentations, the speakers addressed several key points:<\/p>\n

  1. Health Impacts:<\/strong>
    \nThey explained how excessive screen time can affect children\u2019seyesight<\/strong>,\u00a0posture<\/strong>, and\u00a0sleep quality<\/strong>, and may contribute to\u00a0reduced physical activity<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Psychological and Social Effects:<\/strong>
    \nThe seminars highlighted the negative influence of mobile device overuse onconcentration<\/strong>,\u00a0academic performance<\/strong>, and\u00a0face to face communication skills<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Responsible Usage:<\/strong>
    \nThe students provided practical suggestions for using technology wisely such as setting screen time limits, avoiding electronic devices before bedtime, and using media for educational purposes rather than entertainment only.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The sessions encouraged open discussion, allowing the young attendees to share their own experiences with mobile devices. The seminar successfully raised awareness among the students about the\u00a0health, social, and psychological risks<\/strong>associated with the misuse of mobile phones and iPads. It also emphasized the importance of\u00a0balanced and mindful media use<\/strong>. Through this activity, the Technical Media Department students demonstrated their ability to apply classroom knowledge to real life educational outreach, showing commitment to\u00a0social responsibility<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0constructive media engagement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
