On May 8, 2025, Sulaimani Polytechnic University held its first \u201cPostgraduate Research Day\u201d in the halls of the university\u2019s Language Center. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, President of the University, along with Vice Presidents, Deans of Colleges and Institutes, academic supervisors, and master’s and doctoral students.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, the President\u2019s speech was delivered on his behalf by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarhang Sarwat Hama, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education.<\/p>\n
Notably, this marks the first time in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq that all postgraduate students\u2014both master\u2019s and doctoral\u2014presented the progress of their research studies in the form of seminars and poster sessions as part of their thesis work.<\/p>\n
The aim of the event was to provide a platform for postgraduate students to showcase their research, receive constructive feedback from faculty and supervisors, and enhance the quality and presentation of their theses. It also sought to strengthen students’ academic communication and presentation skills.<\/p>\n
\u201cPostgraduate Research Day\u201d is a scientific tradition held at many renowned universities around the world. Sulaimani Polytechnic University is proud to be the first in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq to adopt this model, with plans to make it an annual event.<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation were awarded for the best seminar and poster presentations at the college level.<\/p>\n
