Volunteering at the Sulaimani Polytechnic University offers a meaningful way to connect with the community, build valuable skills, and make a positive impact. Our Volunteering Team, in partnership with governmental and non-governmental organizations, encourages all students and alumni to get involved, with opportunities open to everyone, regardless of background, interests, or previous experience. Through volunteering, students not only gain hands-on experience but also enrich their university journey by learning from diverse communities and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
Last year, our students played a crucial role in several impactful projects, for instance our students organized a book sale to raise funds for Hewa Hospital, a cancer treatment facility, combining their love for reading with a commitment to helping others. Through this initiative, they successfully generated support for cancer care, providing vital resources to patients in need. Another activity our volunteers are actively engaged in teaching Basic Life Support (BLS) skills to the community, empowering individuals with essential techniques to respond effectively in emergencies.
Our university\u2019s volunteering initiatives include a strong focus on environmental sustainability, with students actively participating in tree planting and green space restoration projects. By working alongside local communities, our volunteers contribute to a healthier environment, raise awareness about conservation, and help create green spaces for future generations.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Another standout initiative was the role of our students in promoting health and wellness within refugee camps, providing crucial support through health education and assistance with basic healthcare services. By working alongside healthcare professionals, they have helped empower refugees with knowledge of hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care, fostering a safer and healthier environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is just a glimpse of our volunteering efforts, as we have many more initiatives underway that allow our students to make a difference in various fields.
