About Pedagogy Center<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The center of pedagogical training and academic development at SPU was established in 2019. The main aim of this center is to offer high quality of pedagogical training, which helps improving teachers (academics) for the universities in Kurdistan region. Such training facilitates preparing teachers with innovative competencies necessary for delivering learning materials, creating learning environment, designing curriculum and employment of different assessment tools in the learning process.<\/p>

Aim<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>

The center of pedagogical training and academic development at EPU is recognized to be an active factor to support the reform process in the higher education system launched by the Ministry of higher education and scientific research in the Kurdistan region.<\/p>

At our center, we seek to develop a paradigm shift in academic professional development. We look for providing our university and the local community with competent academic staff in order to that our center to be nationally recognized as a model center for promoting high-quality teaching and learning.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Course Program<\/h3><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The pedagogical training course consists of six different modules which are (Information and Communication Technology, Student-centered approach, Innovative Pedagogical methods & assessment tools, Competence-based education, Edupreneureship & University Work Environment Cooperation, and Research Development module. Each module comes with different learning outcomes such as making use of online and offline digital learning tools, providing participants with the correct psychological construct that may be important in educational settings, using suitable methods of teaching to apply theories in the laboratory, fieldwork, and connect them to their real-life situations. Moreover, describing what flexibility in the curriculum means in the Kurdistan context and knowing how to design a flexible curriculum. Demonstrating knowledge of the research process is another learning outcome in the pedagogical training course.<\/p>

Assessment for Learning:<\/h5>

During the course six different modules are employed, each module is taught with various assessment approaches, criteria, and tools, which are employed to evaluate the achievement of the learning outcomes of each module. Both formative and summative assessments are used. However, the focus is more on using formative assessment tools. Assessment tools such as continuous assessment, portfolios, reports, projects, peer assessments, presentations, seminars, self-assessments, assignments, learning diaries, reflections, \u2026 etc.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><\/div><\/div><\/article><\/main><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Alumni<\/h3>

During 2019-2022 three successful courses were run, the first round was run in 2019, with 51 graduands, the second round was run in 2020 with 54 graduands, while the third round was run in 2022 with 60 successful graduands. Now, the fourth round is running in our center at SPU with 70 participants.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
