An international workshop on “Who owns the past? Rethinking storytelling at Ashmolean Museum” took place

On July 7 th , 2021, the 10th international training workshop of the joint Digital cultural heritage (DCH)-the Nahrein Network “Digital Cultural Heritage” Training Program under the title “Who owns the past? Rethinking storytelling at Ashmolean Museum" was held. Over 123 participants from 36 different universities and government and non-government organizations from a total of 5 countries (Iraq, Brazil, Malaysia, Tunisia, and UK.) attended the workshop. Within Iraq, the participants came from Sulaymaniyah, Erbil, Halabja, Koya, and Duhok.
The workshop was presented by Dr Paul Collins, Curator for Ancient Near East at the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford. The Nahrein Network is a collaborative international project between University College London (UCL), University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and the University of Al- Qadisiyah. The Network is supported by an AHRC Global Challenges Research Fund grant from the UK government.
