Department’s summary: is one of the departments of the Technical Institute of Dokan dependent to Sulaimaniyah Polytechnical university, in Dokan district – Sulaimaniyah governorate.

Historical summary about the department:

Accounting department in 2009 and according to a brief history of the department: a decree of Sulaymaniyah technical study board No. ( 288) on the date ( 05-07-2009 ) opened for the studying year ( 2009-2010). in the same year to more importance of studying process from the accounting department and other departments ( labor administration – bank administration ) with a decree of Sulaymaniyah technical study board No. ( 9337) on the date ( 03-12-2009 ), evening study was opened for the study year ( 2009-2010).

Aims of the department:

Training an intermediate and technician cadre in the field of accounting. Preface of study opportunity and learning science of accounting and finance for the youth of the country and Kurdistan, in order to service more and more of the country and developing better to the official offices of Region and conduct all works.

Importance of the department in the market:

This department prepares some students and teaching them accounting science in an academic manner and sends them into the market for working in the field of accounting which nowadays the private sector is developing and can find jobs at companies, hospitals, and any other places that in need of accountants.

Importance of the department in society:

Accounting is a commercial language and will have the main role and decisive in the developed world of the economy at the communication of financial information for all social levels and dependent on this science and different parts of the society and obtain the right decision about economical subjects.

Types of works can be implemented by the graduates of this department:

The duty of the student after finishing this department is preparation, classification, introducing a list, and financial information of those economical associations that depend on the private and public sector and in which the student is working to manage the associations that in order to obtain deciding a possible economy decision.

After study graduation and starting work in the general sector and take the title of accountant clerk, time passing, according to applicable law and instructions and after getting experience the position title will change and starts from accountant assistant till reach to advanced accountant.
