A symposium was run under the title “Confronting the Fear of Coronavirus Pandemic in Kurdistan”.

With the attendance of the president of SPU, Assistant Professor Dr. Alan Faraidoon Ali Amin and several numbers of researchers, lecturers, students, employees, and Religious Affairs Ministry representative, on 18th Feb 2020, a symposium was run under the name of “Confronting the Fear of Coronavirus Pandemic in Kurdistan”.

In a remark, the president of the SPU thanked the management team of the awareness and self-protection against the coronavirus campaign for distributing enough information regarding the virus and protection. He also mentioned the significant development that SPU gained in the previous five years, such as acceleration of scientific research number, and progressing the position of the University’s rank in the list.

Dr. Mohamad Babakir as the dean of the Technical College of Health at the SPU gave his speech and explained a brief history of this pandemic and also a thorough statistic of the virus and how it is developed. He also mentioned the virus can be diagnosed in Sulaimani especially in the labs of the Technical College of Health at SPU.

As a good motivation for the civilians, Dr. Taha Ahmed Faraj presented a subject under the name “you are a spirit and has been given a body not a body and has been given a soul”. It was beautifully attracting the audience and gave enough information on how people can be powerful against this pandemic.
