A lecturer at Sulaimani Polytechnic University confirms man’s quest for harmony with nature and its reflection on his residence.

A Kurdish Academic at SPU confirmed that the effects of nature are reflected directly on the final form of housing units and building materials used in construction with time and touch of that period ,besides it shows the resorting of human to be in harmony with the nature , which gives a special identity of the construction and urbanization of different regions, indicating that the increase of the land slope affects the organization of spaces and residential settlements ,thus people imposed to be in harmony with it .
Dr. Hoshyar Qadir Rasul an assistant professor at the Technical College of Engineering said that the results was an outcome of a research done by him in cooperation with Eng. Ammar Ibrahim, Director of Al-Isra Engineering Company in Sulaimani, entitled (Nature and physical configuration- study of topography influences on the physical configuration of mountain settlements in Iraqi)In which he participated in an international conference organized by the International Association of Experts on Research and Knowledge Exchange (IEREK),in cooperation with Helwan University in Egypt, entitled “Cities Identity through Architecture and Arts (CITAA) for the period from 11 to 14 May 2017.pointing that the research “reveals how topographical factors affect the configuration of rural urban communities in long areas like Hawraman mountainous area at Sulaimani governorate near the border with Iran, and how to form the engineering system housing units and the pedestrian movement of population in these units, he also added that the natural effects “reflected the final form of housing units in the area of Hawraman, colors and building materials used in harmony with nature , pointing out that the research also showed that “the resort to these elements Constitutes a special identity for construction and urbanization. ”
Dr.Hoshyar added that he also participated in a workshop on the( ethics of scientific research) and how to publish research in the reliable international journals, the workshop was held on the sidelines of the conference and attended by Dr. Nabil Al-Khulaifi, Head of the Middle East and North Africa Division of the Rotuldge Springer Foundation, said that the workshop dealt with ” important concepts related to scientific publishing and the regulations to be adopted in this regard.”
It is noteworthy that Dr, Hoshyar Qadir Rasul graduated from the Architectural Department of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Baghdad in 1989, and received a master’s degree in environmental planning for cities from the Higher Institute of Urban and Regional Planning in 1996 and PhD in Architecture Technology from the Department of Architecture, Baghdad University in 2003, He is currently teaching at the Department of Town Planning Engineering at the Technical College of Engineering of SPU, and has several research participations in local and international Journals.
