:1. Abstract about the department
Department of Agricultural Extension belongs to Technical Institute of Bakrajo.The study in it is two calendar years.
- Historical summery about the department:
Department of Agricultural Extension was established in the study season 2009-2010 under the current name. The first graduation was included (30) thirty students in the study season 2010-2011. It is worth to be mentioned that department board arise a proposal to the presidency of the polytechnic university to convert the department to the (Department of Agricultural Management and Development) in the study season 2015-2016 so there is more working chance for the graduates but it didn’t meet response.
:3. Aims of the department
1- Preparing a professional agricultural extension staff able in transferring Agricultural information and technologies to the farmers’ community.
2- Supporting scientific relationship with the centers of agricultural extension and research of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation to prepare plans and understand the regional requirements for agricultural extension and it’s methods, as it is a part of the triangle (extension ,research and high education) that their relationship is necessary for development of agricultural in our country.
3- In addition to the role of this department in preparing extension staff in transferring agricultural information, they can be benefited for providing essential agricultural information both in plant and animal fields.
- Importance of the department for the market:
Preparing a professional staff able in performing reklam, extension, exhibition and marketing for the agricultural products, as well as economical analysis and statistics in agriculture.

Preparing professional staff in achieving relationships, social leadership especially in the rural society able in the development of the society and publishing scientific, national and progressive ideas in it.

1- Agricultural extension and leadership.
2- Management of the agricultural projects.
3- Supervision of the whole agricultural activities in general.
4- Agricultural economy and accounting.
5- Agricultural statistics.
